Hey Favs, Happy Sunday!
Whew, where do I even begin? It's been a whirlwind these past few years, and I feel like I'm just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Let's get real for a second—burnout is a beast! My good friend Tina recently came back from a trip to Detroit for a mental health conference and dropped a truth bomb on me: sometimes "burnout" can last for about two years. TWO YEARS, y'all! And let me tell you, my burnout feels like it's been lingering since the start of the pandemic.
2022 and 2023 were thee most financially challenging and mentally taxing years for me. And let's not even talk about 2021—losing my uncle in March and then my aunt in September had me on autopilot. So yeah, I've been on burnout mode since the start of this whole pandemic mess. And even though 2020 was probably the best year my business has ever had, the world as we knew it was a complete blur. Honestly, I think we're all suffering from a collective PTSD from this pandemic. And don't even get me started on this upcoming election—whewwwwww MY GOD. I don't know when we'll all get a break, but in the meantime, let's just enjoy some fashion and have some laughs.
So, on to the good stuff! I'm super excited to introduce some fabulous new items to the BLK CEO collection, resurface some of our OG faves, and bring an entirely new vibe with our upcoming September 2024 collection: "Class Is Back In Session."

A Few Words on Burnout and Mental Health
As we get all the way into this new season, let's not forget the importance of mental health. Burnout is real, and it's okay to take a step back and recharge. Whether it's through fashion, laughter, or just taking a moment for yourself, remember to prioritize your well-being. We've all been through so much, and it's important to give ourselves grace and time to heal. And if you don’t feel like doing anything, saying NO is absolutely ok…with no explanation behind it! No is the explanation, ok!? But the most valuable lesson I’ve learned, when your body says sit down and rest, DO JUST THAT!
